Zecharia Sitchin: An eminent Orientalist and Biblical scholar, Zecharia Sitchin is distinguished by his ability to read ancient Sumerian clay tablets and other ancient texts. Through such texts, religious documents and archaeological findings, he reconstructs epic events that support the existence of extraterrestrial “gods” who once set nation against nation, and man against man. He is a graduate of the University of London and worked as a journalist and editor in Israel for many years. He now lives and writes in New York.

Coast to Coast AM appearances:

Dearly Departed Special
Thursday August 1, 2013
For over 20 years, Coast to Coast AM has been host to some of the most brave, innovative and informed experts. In separate half-hour segments, George played and commented on six different interviews from former guests in the C2C family that are no longer with us, yet whose legacies and ideas live on. We heard an interview with renowned scholar Zecharia Sitchin who recounted his theory of ancient ET visitors from the planet Nibiru during the 2/1/10 show. Sitchin died later in 2010 at the age of 90.

UFOs & ETs
Monday May 11, 2009
Making a rare appearance on the show, first hour guest, noted scholar Zecharia Sitchin talked about his latest endeavor, The Earth Chronicles Handbook, which he called a “GPS” to his earlier seven book series. The new guidebook serves as an encyclopedic compendium of the myths and actual events from humanity’s ancient civilizations such as the Sumerians. He said there is evidence that the Anunnaki (visitors from the planet Nibiru which has an elliptical orbit in our solar system) left Earth in 550 BC but promised to return. Sitchin also claimed that astronomers had seen Nibiru but hushed up the information.

Crop Circles & Sitchin
Thursday December 22, 2005
In the first hour, Sumerian scholar Zecharia Sitchin joined Hilly. It’s been 30 years since Sitchin’s influential book The 12th Planet was first published, outlining his thesis that a race known as the Anunnaki descended to Earth from their planet, Nibiru, which comes into the inner solar system every 3,600 years. He announced that he is working on a new book that will be as significant as The 12th Planet and will deal with “touchy subjects.” Sitchin said he believes the Anunnaki will revisit our planet “in some people’s lifetimes.” He also commented that recent pictures of Mars taken by the Spirit Rover show artificial structures such as walls and towers, which he suggested could have been constructed by the Anunnaki.

Mars Structures: In the last hour, Hilly interviewed author and scholar Zecharia Sitchin about archeological artifacts on Mars. Sitchin believes Mars was inhabited for thousands of years by “others like us,” and served as a way station between Earth and the planet of the Anunnaki. He claims pictorial depictions on ancient cylinder seals show an astronaut on Mars greeting an astronaut on Earth. He also discussed stories from his newest book, The Earth Chronicles Expeditions.

“Encountering the Divine” Interview with Zecharia Sitchin

Zecharia Sitchin

Zecharia Sitchin

World Conference of Planetary Violence in Human History, January 3-5, 1997. Interview conducted by Jordan Maxwell.

Maxwell: It is an honor to be here in your company Mr. Sitchin. For many years I’ve enjoyed following your work in the field of ancient theology. My first question is about the word Yahweh, one of the names of God in Hebrew. Is it a proper name or is Yahweh, in Hebrew, describing something?

Sitchin: It is a descriptive term. It is not a proper name.

Maxwell: That is what I thought. Could you explain exactly what it is describing?

Sitchin: It is usually translated “I am who I am” — something like that. More accurately the tense, which in Hebrew it says Ehyeh-Asher-Ehyeh, is a future tense. Therefore it means “I will be whoever I will be,” in context of the whole biblical tale and with a throwback to the Sumerian information that I provide in my books. It really means “I can be whoever I choose to be.”

Zecharia Sitchin’s Last Wish

Sitchin's_Last_Wish_001_Reina-Puabi

Sitchin died hoping the DNA of queen Puabi could prove his theories right.

“Maybe by comparing her genome with ours, we would find out what are those missing genes that they deliberately did not give us. Maybe. I cannot guarantee that, but maybe.”

This is one of the last statements made by Dr. Zecharia Sitchin (1920-2010), one of the best known researchers of the Sumerian clay tablets. Dr. Sitchin devoted over 30 years of his life to studying these tablets, and developed the theory about the Anunnaki and planet Nibiru. According to this theory, an alien race called the “Anunnaki” arrived to the Earth more than 5000 years ago and created humans through a genetic experiment.

Genesis Revisited: Phenomenon – The Lost Archives

Genesis Revisited from Phenomenon – The Lost Archives

Based on the book Genesis Revisited, by Zacharia Sitchin.

Evidence of a civilization ruled by emissaries from another world are revealed in the ancient tablets of man. Historian and Archeologist Zecharia Sitchin uncovers the lost and hidden archives of the Annunaki: Extra-planetary visitors who over 6,000 years ago inspired what is thought to be the earliest civilization known to man; Sumeria. From the sacred stone tablets of this culture, many of the teachings of the earliest inventors, philosophers and biblical scholars once thought mythical, are now known to be true. Where did these Anunaki come from? Sitchin says and NASA scientists concur, that there may be a mysterious 10th member to our solar system: The planet the Sumerians called, Nibiru.

Phenomenon – The Lost Archives (1998-2000)

A documentary series that takes an in-depth look at the topics found in recently declassified government documents. It explores well-known issues with new information that has been sequestered from the public for over sixty years.

Looking for Alien DNA (Cosmic Log Interview)

This 2010 interview between Zecharia Sitchin and Alan Boyle, Science Editor, NBC News discussed “his tales of ancient alien visitors from the planet Nibiru — and his campaign to have DNA tests done on a 4,500-year-old Sumerian noblewoman,” whom Sitchin believed may have descended from the Anunnaki. Boyle would later memorialize the passing of Zecharia Sitchin a few months after this interview.

Zecharia Sitchin suggests that the star-shaped symbol and 11 other dots on this Sumerian cylinder seal, known as VA243, represent the sun, moon and 10 planets – including a mysterious world known as Nibiru. He further suggests that beings from Nibiru made alterations in the human genome. Mainstream experts on Sumerian cuneiform texts say Sitchin’s interpretation is wrong.

Zecharia Sitchin says he’s willing to stake everything he’s written about alien astronauts on DNA tests that could be performed on the 4,500-year-old remains of a high-ranking Sumerian woman. It’s the latest – and possibly the last – cause celebre for a fringe celebrity.

Zecharia Sitchin Biography (Wikipedia.org)

The following is the Wikipedia entry for Zecharia Sitchin. It is a good reference as a bibliography for his published works and ancillary texts/videos. However, this Wikipedia biography of Sitchin gives a bland, perfunctory description of his theories, then devotes the rest of the biography to Sitchin’s critics. Little attention is given to how he came to write the Earth Chronicles, what his early years developing his theories were like – for insight into those years, I would suggest reading his many interviews. (Note by this Web site: some updates have been made to the text that are not reflected in the original source.)

Zecharia Sitchin (July 11, 1920 – October 9, 2010 [1]) was an Azerbaijani-born American author of books proposing an explanation for human origins involving ancient astronauts. Sitchin attributes the creation of the ancient Sumerian culture to the Anunnaki, which he states was a race of extraterrestrials from a planet beyond Neptune called Nibiru. He believed this hypothetical planet of Nibiru to be in an elongated, elliptical orbit in the Earth’s own Solar System, asserting that Sumerian mythology reflects this view. Sitchin’s books have sold millions of copies worldwide and have been translated into more than 25 languages.

A Conversation with Zecharia Sitchin – FATE Magazine

FATE gets the scoop from Zecharia Sitchin modern day linguist and biblical scholar.

Phyllis Gldea with FATE Magazine conducted a sit-down conversation and interview with Zecharia Sitchin in 2010, where the author goes into some depth about his own beliefs and what led him to pursue his research into our origins.

PG: For our FATE readers, could you please tell a brief summary of what you have done, what you have discovered and uncovered, and where did it happen?

ZS: FATE, like other magazines perhaps, has a new generation of readers, and that is very interesting.

At the beginning of 2009, I agreed to go to LA and speak at some Expo. Almost five years before, I had scheduled one of my big seminar events in LA, in May 2004, and it had to be canceled almost at the last minute. Visiting with family in Philadelphia, I didn’t feel right. My son-in-law there was a doctor and called one of his colleagues, and he examined me. He said I was not far from a fatal heart attack because there was a blockage that was not in a reachable place. He said the only thing that we could do was a heart bypass. I was admitted to the hospital right then and there.

As I was waiting to be prepared for the operation, a young male nurse comes in and says he saw my name in the list of new admissions. He says, “Oh! I have read all your books! I have an original edition of The 12th Planet. Would you autograph it for me? I will go home and get it.”

I said, “Let’s make a deal. If I make it through the operation, I will autograph the book.” Which obviously, I did.

Interview with Zecharia Sitchin (1996)

Antonio Huneeus, republished October 30, 2010

“I am bursting, people don’t realize how every day, every day we get corroboration of ancient knowledge…”

This interview was recorded in Sitchin’s home office in Manhattan’s Upper West Side on March 13, 1996. It was originally intended for the international Spanish magazine Año Cero (Year Zero), published in Madrid but distributed throughout Latin America as well. Later, a Japanese version was published in the now-defunct Tokyo magazine Borderland, and an edited version in the original English in Fate magazine in the U.S. However, this is the first time that the full, unedited transcript of the interview is presented, as a tribute to the great, late Zecharia Sitchin. Besides the range of highly interesting topics covered, it also shows Zecharia’s thought process and the way he dealt with difficult questions like predictions for the return of Nibiru.

Zecharia Sitchin

Considered the father of alternative archeology, Zecharia Sitchin has a profound knowledge of modern and ancient Hebrew and many other Semitic and European languages. This knowledge has enabled him in his research of such ancient cultures as Sumer, Egypt, and Mesoamerica. One of approximately 200 scholars on the planet who can read and understand ancient Sumerian, Zecharia Sitchin has written a series of intriguing books including The 12th Planet, The Wars of Gods and Men, When Time Began, Stairway to Heaven, and The Lost Realms (Bear and Company). These books deal with Earth’s and humankind’s histories and prehistory and are based on information actually written on clay tablets by the ancient civilizations of the Near East. Born in Russia, raised in Palestine, educated in England, and a leading journalist and editor in Israel for many years, he now lives in New York. In a rare interview, we had the opportunity to ask Zecharia Sitchin about his transformational journey which has lead him to the well-researched and documented discovery that our ancestors came from the stars.

Origin of the Species, From an Alien View (NYTimes Interview)

Corey Kilgannon of the New York Times talked with Zecharia Sitchin in 2010, discussing his daily routine living in New York city as well as addressing topics from the Earth Chronicles books. Sitchin was 90 years old when giving this interview, and still appeared as quick witted as ever.

Zecharia Sitchin, 2010

To Zecharia Sitchin, a carving from 7,000 B.C. represents an alien passing a plow, and agricultural wisdom, to humanity. Chester Higgins Jr./The New York Times

WHERE did humankind come from?

If you’re going to ask Zecharia Sitchin, be ready for a “Planet of the Apes” scenario: spaceships and hieroglyphics, genetic mutations and mutinous space aliens in gold mines.

It sounds like science fiction, but Mr. Sitchin is sure this is how it all went down hundreds of thousands of years ago in Mesopotamia. Humans were genetically engineered by extraterrestrials, he said, pointing to ancient texts to prove it.
